Warner Bros. has revealed a new game in the Batman: Arkham series, called Batman: Arkham Shadow. This announcement comes eight years after the previous game in the series.
Warner Bros. and Meta have announced that Batman: Arkham Shadow, a virtual reality game, will be available only on the Meta Quest 3. It is scheduled for release in 2024.

The announcement of Batman: Arkham Shadow occurs three months following the release of Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League, made by Rocksteady, the original creator of the Batman Arkham series.
Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League did not perform well, attracting very few players on Steam. Warner Bros. has acknowledged that this live service game did not meet their expectations.
Much of the disappointment in Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League comes from it not being a new Batman game by Rocksteady, even though it takes place in the Arkhamverse.
Rocksteady’s Batman Arkham series is very popular among fans. Especially, Batman: Arkham City from 2011 is considered one of the best, if not the best, superhero video games ever made.
It has been a while since Rocksteady launched a Batman: Arkham game, with the most recent being the VR title, Batman: Arkham VR in 2016.
The release of Batman: Arkham Shadow will likely highlight more issues with Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League and raise concerns about Warner Bros.’ dedication to long-term live service games. Warner Bros. has not yet revealed Rocksteady’s upcoming project.
What we think?
I think Batman: Arkham Shadow will be exciting because it’s a VR game. Playing as Batman in virtual reality will feel like being a real superhero in Gotham City.
The game will probably have cool gadgets and intense fights with villains. Since it’s made by the team that did Iron Man VR, I expect it to be very immersive and fun. I’m looking forward to trying it out!
