The updated version of Fallout 4 for PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S will be released on April 25. This update includes 60 FPS, higher resolutions, and better stability. It comes right after the launch of Amazon’s Fallout TV series, which debuted yesterday and released all eight episodes at once.
This update gives PS5 and Xbox Series X/S players a new native Fallout 4 app, provided they already have the previous-gen versions of the RPG. They can choose between Performance and Quality Mode settings, enjoy 60 FPS gameplay, and benefit from higher resolutions.
Stability has also been enhanced. Players on older consoles will get a free update that improves stability and fixes login and quest issues.
For PC gamers, a free update for Fallout 4 is on the way. This update will introduce widescreen and ultra-widescreen support, along with improvements to the Creation Kit and several quest updates.
The PC versions on Steam, the Microsoft Store, and GOG will get updates for stability, mods, and bug fixes. Additionally, Fallout 4 will soon be offered on the Epic Game Store. The update will also ensure that Fallout 4 is compatible with the Steam Deck once it’s released later this month.
With the new-gen update, developer Bethesda Game Studios will also release these free Creation Club items:
Enclave Remnants
According to a blog post, “Enclave Remnants” introduces the Pre-War group, The Enclave, into the Fallout 4 narrative. In a new mission called “Echoes of the Past,” players must prevent The Enclave from extending their beliefs across the Commonwealth.
Additionally, players can obtain workshop items and the Enclave Colonel uniform, along with these previously released Creation Club items:
- Enclave Weapon skins
- Enclave Armor skins
- Tesla Cannon
- Hellfire Power Armor
- X-02 Power Armor
- Heavy Incinerator
Makeshift Weapon Pack
Bethesda states that this weapon pack features a range of “unusual items turned into deadly weapons,” which includes the Baseball Launcher, Nail Gun, and Piggy Bank.
Halloween Workshop
This pack contains 38 Halloween decorations left from a failed Halloween party organized by the New England Technocrat Society, featuring witches, cauldrons, ghouls, pumpkins, skeletons, and more.
What we think?
I think the Fallout 4 update for PS5 and Xbox will be great. It will make the game smoother and prettier with 60 FPS and better graphics. The new items and missions sound exciting, especially the Enclave stuff.
I’m also curious about the Halloween decorations. It seems like a good time to revisit the game, especially with the new TV show out. Overall, it sounds like a fun update.
