X, once known as Twitter, is introducing a new video app. CEO Linda Yaccarino shared on X that this app will deliver “live, captivating content to your smart TVs.” She made the announcement on Tuesday.
Yaccarino stated that the new app will feature an algorithm for popular videos and AI-driven topics. It will be accessible on both smartphones and smart TVs.
“This will be your go-to companion for a high-quality, immersive entertainment experience on a larger screen,” she wrote.
From the small screen to the big screen X is changing everything. Soon we’ll bring real-time, engaging content to your smart TVs with the X TV App. This will be your go-to companion for a high-quality, immersive entertainment experience on a larger screen. We’re still building it… pic.twitter.com/QhG6cVDpZ8

The CEO also mentioned that the app is under development and requested X users to give their suggestions.
LinkedIn is trying out a video feed similar to TikTok’s, and Meta’s products are increasingly using TikTok’s vertical video style. YouTube, which was one of the first major video platforms, still attracts a large audience. It seems other apps are also interested in this trend.
What we think?
I think the new video app from X will be very popular. It will show exciting videos right on our TVs and phones, using smart technology to pick what we like.
Since it connects with smart TVs, watching will be more fun on a big screen. Other companies are also focusing on videos, so competition will be tough.
But if X does it right, their app could become a favorite for many.
