Fortnite has begun hinting at its “Wrecked” theme for Chapter 5, Season 3. This includes the new image shown above.
The theme has always been post-apocalyptic. Now, with this teaser, it’s clear something obvious is coming: A crossover with Furiosa, the new Mad Max prequel.

We know the apocalyptic game will have new skins and possibly a location. The spiked armor and “NITRO DROME” setup look like Mad Max. This suggests a crossover, even if the picture doesn’t show Furiosa. There’s also a huge sandstorm in the game, similar to the one in Fury Road.
Oh, and Furiosa and Season 3 both release on May 24. That’s right, the same day. It’s too much of a coincidence.
If that’s true, the obvious skins from the film would be Anya Taylor-Joy’s Furiosa and Chris Hemsworth’s Dementus. If they are doing a Furiosa tie-in, they might also include Fury Road characters. Maybe Furiosa has Taylor-Joy and Charlize Theron versions. Maybe Tom Hardy is there. Maybe even Mel Gibson as the original Max. Who knows?
It’s hard to believe Fortnite is launching a Mad Max-themed season on the same day as the new Mad Max movie without any connection. It could be a battle pass skin or something in the shop later. I’d be shocked if I’m wrong. Unlike the Fallout crossover, this is just speculation, and I haven’t seen any leaks about it yet.

A cool idea would be to include more apocalyptic fiction. Mad Max and Fallout are already big ones. Maybe it’s time to add Joel and Ellie from The Last of Us, though their world is greener. And didn’t a new Planet of the Apes movie just come out? That world is pretty destroyed too.

We’ll see new skins like Anya Taylor-Joy’s Furiosa and Chris Hemsworth’s Dementus. Maybe characters from Fury Road too. It’s exciting and I can’t wait to see how it all looks in the game!
