Today, Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 and Warzone rolled out their Season 3 update, packed with fresh content. New gameplay modes are introduced, Rebirth Island makes a comeback, along with new Perks and weapons among other additions. Here’s a brief overview of all the new features in Season 3.
New Game Modes
Modern Warfare 3 introduced four new multiplayer modes: Capture the Flag, One in the Chamber, Minefield, and Escort. Capture the Flag and One in the Chamber are playable right away, while Minefield and Escort will be added halfway through the season.
In Minefield, players who are taken out leave behind a Proximity Mine that poses a threat to their teammates. The game mode Escort involves one team guiding a MAW through the map as the other team tries to halt their progress. After the initial round, teams switch roles, and the team that completes the escort the quickest wins.
New Maps
Season 3 brings six new Core 6v6 maps, with four ready to play now: 6 Star, Emergency, Growhouse, and Tanked. The remaining two, Checkpoint and Grime, will be released during the mid-season update. These two are modified from Warzone Points of Interest to fit the smaller 6v6 format.
New Perks and Equipment
Season 3 introduces three new Perk Vests, a fresh pair of Boots, and additional Gear items. The High-Gain Antenna is one of the new gear pieces, enlarging your minimap view and keeping both friends and foes visible for a longer duration. It also enables you to detect radar signals from your team’s devices.
Another upcoming Gear item, set to arrive in the mid-season update, is the EMD Mine. This is a type of mine that, upon activation, launches trackers that adhere to enemies, making them visible until the tracker is taken off.
The Gunslinger Vest turns you into an expert with Secondary Weapons, eliminating the Primary Weapon slot and allowing only two Secondary Weapons in your loadout. This vest boosts your stamina after a kill, speeds up reloading, lets you reload while running, makes switching weapons faster, and starts you with the full Reserve Ammo. However, these advantages only apply when you’re using your Secondary Weapons.
The Modular Assault Rig Vest lets you pick up Lethals and Tacticals from fallen players and begins with the most Reserve Ammo. The Compression Carrier Vest is designed for support, offering extra health recovery benefits. It enables quick health regeneration following a kill or capturing an objective and reduces the impact of gas grenades.
New Weapons
Season 3 introduces four new weapons available in both Warzone and Multiplayer: FJX Horus, MORS, Gladiator, and the BAL-27.
The FJX Horus, a Submachine Gun, is available at sector 8 of the battle pass. The MORS, a Sniper Rifle, is unlockable at sector 4 of the battle pass. The Gladiator, a Melee weapon, can be obtained at sector 15 of the battle pass. The BAL-27, an Assault Rifle, will be released during the mid-season.
What we think?
I think Season 3 will be fun and exciting. With new game modes like Capture the Flag and Minefield, I’ll have lots of new challenges. The new maps look cool, especially 6 Star and Tanked. I’m excited for the new weapons, especially the FJX Horus.
The new Perks and Equipment, like the High-Gain Antenna, will change how I play. Can’t wait to try everything and see what’s best.
