Similarweb reports that ChatGPT has been setting new daily traffic records since it launched new features.
After OpenAI introduced a new AI model, GPT-4o, last week, the ChatGPT website saw over 100 million visits in the next two days, according to SimilarWeb. The chatbot’s site is on track to surpass 2 billion visits this month, exceeding its previous high of 1.8 billion in May 2023, based on traffic data from the first 17 days of May.
“For the first 17 days of May, traffic averaged 17.8 million daily visits. If it continues at that level, the monthly total would be 2.3 billion visits,” SimilarWeb reported. “The previous monthly record was 1.8 billion visits in May 2023. Even if traffic slows in the last weeks of the month, a total of more than 2 billion visits seems likely.”
OpenAI’s CTO Mira Murati stated that GPT-4o has “GPT-4 level intelligence.” However, it is faster and enhances the system’s abilities in text, vision, and audio.
“This is really shifting the paradigm into the future of collaboration, where this interaction becomes much more natural and far, far easier,” Murati said.
OpenAI CEO Sam Altman announced on the social platform X that the new model will be available to all ChatGPT users, including those using it for free.
What we think?
I think ChatGPT’s new features will make it even more popular. The new model, GPT-4o, is fast and smart. Many people are visiting the site, and it might break traffic records this month. It’s easier to use and understand now.
I believe more people will start using ChatGPT daily. This update is a big step forward for AI and will attract even more users.
