The much-anticipated OLED iPad Pro is nearly here. New versions of the iPad Air are also likely to be introduced at the upcoming online spring event.
Apple began 2024 by releasing the Vision Pro, and now they are planning a product launch event in May. The company has sent out invitations for a “special Apple Event” on May 7th, scheduled for 7 AM PT / 10 AM ET. The invitation features the Apple Pencil, indicating that iPads will be the main topic at this online event.
Speculation indicates that the iPad Pro will receive major updates for the first time since the M1 revamp in 2021.
These updates include an OLED screen (now slightly larger at 13 inches for the larger model), a new M3 chipset, and a long-awaited move of the front camera to a horizontal position
Speculation indicates that the iPad Pro will receive major updates for the first time since the M1 revamp in 2021.
These updates include an OLED screen (now slightly larger at 13 inches for the larger model), a new M3 chipset, and a long-awaited move of the front camera to a horizontal position.
Additionally, there could be a new Apple Pencil and a redesigned Magic Keyboard that features an aluminum body and a bigger trackpad.
The event will conclude the longest period without new iPad models since Apple first introduced them.
It’s also expected that updated iPad Airs will be released, featuring a new 12.9-inch size. A recent report by Mark Gurman from Bloomberg noted that stocks of the current iPad Air are running low at Apple stores. This suggests that a new version could be coming soon.

What we think?
I think the new OLED iPad Pro will be exciting. It has a bigger 13-inch screen and a new M3 chip. They’re also moving the camera, which is cool. There might be a new Apple Pencil and a better keyboard too.
Apple is also updating the iPad Air to a bigger size. This event is big because it’s been a while since Apple released new iPads. I’m looking forward to seeing these updates!
