Your iPhone might not be waking you up, and it’s not just happening to you.
Recently, if your iPhone alarm didn’t wake you up, you’re not the only one. Apple told Today that a software glitch is responsible, after many users reported issues on TikTok and other social media.
According to the report, Apple knows about a problem where some iPhone alarms don’t make the right sound and is fixing it. The official statement from the company didn’t explain the cause of the bug or why it impacts only certain users.
These types of issues often link to changes in time. For instance, a bug in 2010 related to iOS alarms was due to the shift to Daylight Saving Time, and another issue appeared at the start of 2011, stopping alarms on the first two days of the year.
They started working again on January 3 without any updates. Daylight Saving Time began in mid-March in 2024, making it unclear if the current problem is connected to this change.
If the bug hasn’t impacted you—my alarms are working well—you can still use this bug as an excuse if you’re late for something else.
What we think?
I think Apple will fix the iPhone alarm bug soon. They know about it and are probably working hard to solve it. This isn’t the first time they’ve had a problem like this. Usually, they update the software to make everything work right again.
Until then, it’s a good excuse to use if you’re late for work or something else. I’m just glad my alarm is still working!
